Bring on the bull!

The Caledonia School Age Care kids made a trip to Mike McCormick’s beef farm east of Caledonia Aug. 12. The highlight of the day was getting up close and personal with Lariat, McCormick’s 13-year-old Charolais bull that tips the scales at a whopping 2,500 pounds. According to www.cattle.com, the Charolais breed originated in central France and has been around since at least 878 A.D., with official records of the breed dating to the 16th and 17th Centuries. ~ Brady Ambrose
