Beverly M. Welscher passed away on Monday, Aug. 26 at Mayo Health System, St. Francis Hospital.
She was born on April 25, 1929 to Nels and Clara (Gran) Nelson in their home near New Albin, Iowa. The family moved to Caledonia where Beverly attended Caledonia High School and graduated in 1947. Bev loved spending time with her family and particularly enjoyed calls and visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She relished being with friends, as well as the impromptu meetings with neighbors. She also enjoyed time alone at home doing crossword puzzles, crocheting or sewing, sitting outside with a cup of coffee in the early morning, keeping track of everyone on Facebook or just sitting in her favorite chair by the window.
She will be missed by her family including her children, Tom (Karen) Traufler and Jean (Jon) Amlaw; stepdaughter Linda Welscher; grandchildren Elizabeth (Paul), Patrick (Christi) and Crystal; great-grandchildren Maxwell, Rowan, Rosella and Zoe; brothers Jerry (Liz) Nelson and Robert (Sharon) Nelson; in-laws Sheila Nelson and Wilma Nelson; Maynard and Mary Welscher, Carol Welscher and Mary Ann Schmitz. She is further survived by Erika, Andrew, Taylor and many nieces and nephews.
