Special tailgate planned for Friday’s game
Caledonia football fans will be in for a great time before Friday night’s game against Fillmore Central as the Warriors host a tailgate party to help raise money for the Minnesota Football Coaches Association and the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund’s second annual Tackle Cancer! game.
A year ago football teams across Minnesota raised over $120,000 to support the fight against cancer. Friday night the Warriors will host a pre-game tailgate party as well as a field goal kicking contest at halftime and other activities. Head coach Brent Schroeder said that there may even be a few surprises in store.
The mission of the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund is to support the cancer community in Minnesota by funding research, prevention, treatment and other programs relating to the cancer community’s needs.
Fans attending Friday can make donations toward funding additional cancer research and together we can “Tackle Cancer.” Ninety percent of all dollars collected will go directly to cancer research and treatments. Randy’s foundation has raised more than $4 million to date.
