Warrior boys get first win

The Caledonia boys soccer team got their first win of the season Friday when they beat St. Charles 4-3 at St. Charles.

The Warriors got a pair of goals from Alex Marschall and two more from Josh Nord in the win.  “Covering for each other, man marking and working for an open pass still need improving. With that said, it still felt good to get a win,” coach Dustin Moburg said.

On Sept 17 the Warriors lost a 7-3 decision to Cotter. “This was a good game full of lots of excitement,” Moburg said. “Both teams played very well. Both teams had some beautiful shots. Unfortunately for us, more of Cotter’s shots went in than ours. This was our highest shot count of the year at 45 shots. I am very proud of how well our team played.”

Devin Schiltz scored two goals and Marschall added the other with goalie Nick Strabley making 19 saves.

Caledonia’s varsity game Thursday with P-E-M was cancelled because of lightning in the area, but the Warrior junior varsity squad got their game in, losing 3-1.

The Warriors return to action Thursday at La Crescent.
