She was born Jan. 21, 1922, at the Caledonia Hospital, to Ove and Marie (Johnson) Blexrud and was baptized that same day. On June 30, 1935, Olive was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia. She has been a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in the Women’s Circle and Do-Day Quilters.
Survivors include two nieces, Pam Mechtel, Caledonia and Marilyn (Joel) Downer, Bradenton, Fla.; two nephews, Douglas (Sharon) Worman, West Salem, Wis., and Tom (Jan) Blexrud, South Carolina; Olive’s special friend, Nancy Shroeder, Dorchester, Iowa, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Olive was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, George and Irene Blexrud, and her sister and brother-in-law, Millie and Homer Worman.
Memorial services will be Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia. Rev. Steven E. Meyer will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, (Caledonia Chapel), is in charge of arrangements.
