Man injured in meth lab explosion

On Sunday, Oct. 20 at 3:38 p.m. the Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a meth lab explosion. It was reported that a 50-year-old male was severely burnt and seeking medical treatment in La Crosse.

The victim was later transported to a burn center for treatment. A search warrant was executed and evidence recovered is consistent with an active meth lab.

At this time, the name of the victim/suspect is being withheld due to an on-going criminal investigation.  The Houston County Sheriff’s Office will not release further information until the investigation is complete.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Caledonia Ambulance and Fire Department, the Winona County Sheriff’s Office and the Southeast Minnesota Gang and Narcotic Task Force.
