Donald was born on Feb. 22, 1935, in Dorchester, Iowa, to Earl and Lillie (Staggemeyer) Schoh. On March 30, 1957, Donald married Annette (Wohlers) Schoh at St. Peter’s Church in New Albin, Iowa.
Donald is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Annette, of 56 years. They have eight children, Terry (Lynn) Schoh, La Crescent, Minn.; Renee (Kevin) Martin, Ames, Iowa; Vicki Snodgrass, New Albin, Iowa; Jeff Schoh, Onalaska, Wis.; Scott (Jana) Schoh, Lansing, Iowa; Julie (Jamie) Lenz, Gilbert, Iowa; Chris Schoh, Newton, Iowa; and Mike (Lori) Schoh, Grinnell, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; three sisters, Janet Oseth, La Crosse; Joyce (Donald) Bakke, Waukon, Iowa; and Lilah (Leo) Troendle, Lansing, Iowa; three brothers, Leon (Jane) Schoh and Gaylord (Rube) Schoh, both of Waukon, Iowa; and Joe (Pat) Schoh, Dorchester, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Earl, and mother, Lillie Schoh; his father-in-law, Earl, and mother-in-law, Bertha Wohlers; a brother-in-law, Floyd Oseth; and a nephew, Todd Schoh.
Donald was an avid, talented craftsman who took pride in everything he did. He was a hard working man who instilled his work ethic and pride upon his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were his true pride and joy. They all are a part of him in their own way and he will always live on in them. Donald loved playing cards and tinkering around the house and in his garage; he had one creative imagination.
It was Donnie’s final wish to be cremated with a personal and private service with his family. Any condolences or memorials may be directed to the family.
