Broken Christmas decorations now litter the lawn of this Brownsville home, which succumbed to fire the morning of Dec. 11. A woman, her three-year-old daughter and their dog were home when the incident began at the corner of Ninth and Main Street. No one was hurt in the fire, and Brownsville Fire Chief Dave Guckelberger told La Crosse television stations that the fire may have started in the basement near a wood stove where wood was kept. The woman and her boyfriend, along with their daughter, will be staying with relatives, according to information posted at http://www.news8000.com/news/brownsville-family-displaced-after-fire-destroys-house/-/326/23432084/-/xvu6gyz/-/index.html
