Jeanette Helen Twite, age 60, of Caledonia, died peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Lou Gehring’s Disease (ALS) on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Gundersen Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.
She was born Aug. 30, 1953, in La Crosse to Arthur “Bud” and Helen (Lorenz) Mullen. Jeanette graduated from Caledonia High School and attended Winona Area Technical School where she received a degree in accounting. She married Daniel “Danny” Twite Feb. 28, 1976 at St. Patrick’s Church in Brownsville, Minn.
Jeanette worked in the Houston County Human Services Department for many years. She cherished time spent at the log cabin with her family. She was an avid beekeeper, berry picker, gardener and nature lover. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed taking them fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel “Danny,” her daughters, Theresa (Josh) Smith and Rebecca Twite; her grandchildren, Logan and Jerica Smith; her siblings, Rosemary (John) Miller, Joann (Brian) Brickman, Joyce Mullen, Denis (Dina) Mullen and Kathy (Cary) Koel.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 7 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia and burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Brownsville. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Holy Family Hall next to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where a prayer service will be said at 6 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
