Emma Onsgard Mann Fruechte

Fruechte_webEmma Charlotte Onsgard Mann Fruechte, 93, of Eitzen, Minn., and formerly of Black Hammer Township, Minn., passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Tweeten Lutheran Healthcare Center, Spring Grove, Minn.

She was born Oct. 3, 1920, in Spring Grove, Minn., to Christian and Ellen Cecelia (Danielson) Onsgard. On Oct. 31, 1920, she was baptized in Black Hammer Township. On Nov. 7, 1943, she married Arlyn Mann and they had four children, Darrel, Cheryl, David and Jenelle. Together they farmed on Emma’s family homestead in Black Hammer. On March 6, 1956, Arlyn preceded Emma in death. On Nov. 26, 1957, Emma married Merlin Fruechte and together they had two daughters, Rita and Lois. Emma worked as a nurse’s aid at the Tweeten Lutheran Healthcare Center in Spring Grove for 17 years. In 1979, Emma and Merlin moved from Black Hammer into the city of Eitzen and on Dec. 1, 1985, Merlin preceded Emma in death. Emma was a faithful member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Eitzen.

Emma lived for the love of her family which includes six children, Darrel (Helen) Mann, Sheridan, Wyo.; Cheryl Mann, Spring Grove, Minn.; David (Sharon) Mann, Upton, Wyo.; Jenelle (Tom) Worley, Sheridan, Wyo.; Rita (Terry) Riehm, New Albin, Iowa; and Lois (Bryan) Meyer, Dorchester, Iowa; grandchildren, Bruce Mann, Brian Mann, and Barry (Tamara) Mann, all of Sheridan, Wyo.; Jessica Worley, Portland, Ore.; Tyler Worley, Denver, Colo.; and Lindsay Worley, Sheridan, Wyo.; Rochelle (Duane) Undeland, La Crescent, Minn.; and Troy Riehm, New Albin; and Crystal Meyer, La Crosse; Cody and Chad Meyer, both of Dorchester; and Casey Meyer (fiancé, Nathan), Coon Valley, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Nicole McKnight and Brandin (Kelcy) Mann, Molly and Brock Mann, and Weston and Shelby Mann; great-great-grandchildren, Veda McKnight, Brooklyn Mann, and Maysin Mann; one sister, Corrine Heins, La Crosse; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her first and second husbands, Emma was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 17, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Eitzen. Rev. Todd Krueger will officiate. After a time of fellowship, burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Caledonia. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
