Thank you Caledonia for making this year’s food drive a success

The final numbers are in and once again the Caledonia area has stepped up big time!

This year’s food drive raised 21,865.3 pounds of food. That is an increase of 9,599.25 pounds from last year.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s food drive a success!

Our staff here at the Argus works hard on this fundraiser each year and it is the support of the community, and going towards a good cause, that keeps them willing to work so hard the next year.

We look forward to topping this year’s mark in 2015 thanks to the awesome support of the Caledonia community.

I’d like to publicly thank Stephanie Schuldt, Pam DeMorett, Diana Hammell and DeAnna McCabe for all of their hard work in making this year’s food drive such a big success.

A special ‘thank you’ to our community partners in the fundraiser, Eitzen State Bank, Merchants Bank, Bank of the West, and Quillin’s in helping us make this year’s food drive a success.

And a personal ‘thank you’ to those of you who came out and supported the efforts whether it was with a donation of cash or food, or stopping by our Turkey Sandwich fundraiser on July 25.

The final numbers are in and Caledonia, you’ve really outdone yourself again this year. Thank you!

Beginning to look

a lot like fall

As football practice officially begins this week, and as the kindergartners get familiar with their classroom, teachers and new routines, Caledonia has that look like fall is in the air.

This summer is nearly gone and before you know it we’ll all be watching our Warrior football players as the season kicks off on August 22.

This summer went by in a blink and to be honest, I am looking forward to fall as it should mean less driving back and forth to Montevideo while my family takes more and more steps towards getting settled.

We are looking forward to a weekend where all we’ve got to juggle are our kids’ school schedules.
