Duane “Dewey” L. Klinski, 75, of Caledonia, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Caledonia Care and Rehab. He was born March 31, 1939, in Caledonia to Louis and Lillie (Weber) Klinski.
Dewey enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Kaiserlautern, Germany, for 27 months. On September 2, 1958, he married Mary Kampschroer and together they had three children but later divorced. On May 23, 1992, Dewey married Ruth Zielke and they were later divorced. Dewey was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia.
Survivors include his three children, Laura (Clifton) Campbell, Rhonda Jahnke, and Ron (Shelly) Klinski; four grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Kohlmeier, Adam Jahnke, Jamie Klinski, and Carlee Klinski (fiance’, Jake Reinhart); three great-granddaughters, Madi, Tayler and Lexi Kohlmeier; one niece and two nephews.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents; one brother in infancy; and one brother, Marlin Klinski in 1967.
In accordance with his wishes, Dewey’s body will be cremated and a private graveside service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery officiated by Rev. Jon Wolff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Caledonia Care and Rehab as a way of saying thank you for the wonderful care given to Dewey over the last four years.
