She was born February 10, 1958 to R. Owen and JoAnn (Corpstein) Ganrude in Caledonia, Minn. Laurie grew up in Caledonia and married the love of her life, Jim Fisch on September 9, 1978. She was a dedicated mother and wife. Laurie enjoyed attending every one of her son Andrew’s basketball games and her daughter Kelsey’s swimming tournaments. She enjoyed watching Andrew train his dogs and watching the trees turn colors in the fall. She was employed by Herff Jones for 25+ years.
Laurie is survived by her husband, James Fisch; son, Andrew (Kathy Hintzman); daughter, Kelsey (Jason) Smith; mother and stepfather, JoAnn and Don Engstler; brother, Ron (Tomomi) Ganrude; sister, Lynn (Paul) Fisch; brother-in-laws, Dick Fisch, Mike (Haze) Fisch, Ron Fisch, and Paul (Lynn) Fisch; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, R. Owen Ganrude; mother and father-in-law, Elaine and Leon Fisch; grandparents, Olga and Elvin Ganrude and Armella and Leander Corpstein.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Matt Fasnacht will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wed. at St. Mary’s Holy Family Hall, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday before the service at the church.
