The Warrior girls basketball season came to an end on the court in Rochester as the Warriors fell to Lourdes, 60-48.
The Warriors started out strong pressing the Eagles who didn’t have an answer early.
The Warriors broke away to a 9-4 advantage and stayed ahead early while the Eagles worked out the Warriors’ defense.
But the Warriors gave up the lead at 14-12 and they trailed the rest of the game including trailing at half-time by ten.
Early in the second half, the Warriors closed to within seven, but the Eagles fought off the charge and the defecit would end at 12 points.
Mariah Schroeder had a nice game for the Warriors leading the team with 25 points.
She had an overall solid game shooting.
Katie Tornstrom just couldn’t get her three point shots to fall and she finished with just 12 points on the night, fresh off a game where she scored 20 in the opening round against Lake City.
Head coach Kevin Klug said his team didn’t play a style they had much of the season.
“We kind of got away from attacking the basket and didn’t get enough outside shots to fall, we got a lot of good things out of our press but when we quit scoring we weren’t able to press and that’s when Lourdes went on their run,” Klug said.
