The Caledonia school board approved the use of “Caledonia Warrior fishing club” for the bass fishing club.

“I view it like robotics,” said superintendent Ben Barton. “They started out with us lending support and in a year or two they were able to be pulled under our umbrella where maybe we hire a coach and fully support the team.”

The board voted to approve the use of the name and as the sport evolves, more of a role could be played by the district.

Lions give

The Caledonia Lions give so much for their community and their school.

During the winter athletic sports season, the Lions volunteered 120 hours during the winter season selling tickets.

The Caledonia area school board thanked them for the generous donation.

Joannie Schmidt donated boxes of toothbrushes and toothpaste for students of the district.

Nicole and Andrew Flugge donated a large amount of Lego’s to the Makerspace Room at the Caledonia elementary.
