The Lancer Booster Club Invitational may not have been team scored, but several Warrior individuals and squads made their mark during the event. Runners, jumpers and throwers from the host school (La Crescent), Lake City, Rushford-Peterson/Houston, Riverdale, Lanesboro/Fillmore Central, La Crosse Logan, Providence Academy and Caledonia/Spring Grove were all on hand for the April 28 meet.

After the 100-meter dash, race officials announced that C/SG senior Mariah Schroeder had set a new meet record in the event (12.96 seconds). Teammate Kaitlin Conniff took fifth at the same distance.

In the 200 dash, Warriors Amber Conniff and Maria Schieber finished second and third respectively. Schieber also placed second in the individual 400 dash. Other top five finishes for the C/SG ladies included a second place for the 4×100-meter relay team of (sisters) Kaitlin Conniff and Amber Conniff, Eliza Welscher, and Mariah Schroeder, and a third place for the 4×200 relay team (Amber Conniff, Kaitlin Conniff, Eliza Welscher, and Madison Winjum).

There were abundant top five finishes for the C/SG boys.

Warrior Sam Barthel won the 100-meter dash for C/SG. Teammate Mitchell Bechtel took fourth in the 100 M, while Ben McCabe snagged fifth. The 200 dash was won by Warrior Jack Beardmore. C/SG gents also won both the 100 and 200 relays. The 100 crew included Ben McCabe, Ezekiel Ott, Mitchell Bechtel, and Sam Barthel, while the 200 relay featured Jack Beardmore, Mitchell Bechtel, Ben McCabe, and Ezekiel Ott. Andrew Vick finished fourth in high jump. Mitchell Bechtel not only ran extremely well (as he’s done in every meet), he also took fourth in long jump. Ezekiel Ott combined running and throwing, taking second in shot put. Teammate Nick Loging finished third. Taylor Holty won the discus throw, just as he did at the previous week’s meet in La Crosse. Jordan Jaster took third in that event.
