Temps warming up, girls team struggles this week on the links

“We went from our best meet of the year to our worst,” said head girls golf coach Mitch Mullins following a 196 to 234 loss to Fillmore Central. “Jenna Wiebke did have her best meet of the year, so I was really glad to see that,” Mullins said. “We just need to work hard on improving as the second half of the season rolls around here. The weather was actually pretty good for us today.”

Ma Cal Grove was the site of the meet.

The Falcons had two golfers who shot in the 40s with a 45 and 47 respectively.

The Warriors #1 and #2 golfers, Katrina Paulson and Rebeckah Schroeder shot a 58 and 53 respectively.

Wiebke carded a 53 and Vanessa Hawkins carded a 70.

Gina Steele shot a 76.

L-A vs. Caledonia

on Friday, May 5, the Warriors traveled to Lewiston Altura where they were defeated 201 to 210 in a close battle.

Rebeckah Schroeder was the co-medalist as she joined L-A’s Brianna Kelly carding a 44.

Jenna Wiebke continued her solid play and shot a 50. Vanessa Hawkins shot a 55 and Ally Jilek shot a 61.

Gina Steele shot a 62 on the day.
