The Caledonia Area High School SADD Chapter sponsored a mock crash Thursday morning in the pouring rain. The high school student body witnessed the results of a two-vehicle alcohol-related accident invovling six high school students following the prom. Next to graduation, the junior/senior prom is one of the most anticipated events observed each spring. The Caledonia junior//senior prom will be held this Saturday, Apr. 26. This year’s theme is “Escape to Vegas.” The grand march will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the high school. Doors open at 4 p.m. for picture taking. Bob Klug, of Caledonia Implement, turned quite a few heads last week when he loaded up this CaseIH pedal tractor on his large flatbed trailer and “hauled” it down the road to Chuck Schulte’s Green Power John Deere dealership. Klug donated the tractor as one of the auction items for the #299 Foundation auction and Schulte was the high bidder. Schulte paid $500 for the tractor and said he’d donate another $25 to the #299 Foundation if Klug would personally deliver it. So that’s just what Klug did last week. When asked what he plans to do with his new toy, Schulte said he might put it on display in his business and then see if the “red” tractor will hold its resale value until next year’s #299 Foundation fundraiser. With a big smile, Klug said, “I think I know where this will be going next year!” Through the generosity of area residents like Schulte and Klug, the #299 Foundation raised approximately $22,500 during the auction and fun night on April 12                                                                                               Photo by Charlie Warner
