The Caledonia girls basketball team’s season came to an end in the quarter final round of the Minnesota Girls Class AA State Tournament. The Jordan Jaguars topped the CHS girls 74-61 last Wednesday at Williams Arena. Jordan battled its way to the championship game, but lost to Albany 62-52. The Caledonia boys basketball team found out why La Crescent had 26 wins and only one defeat so far this season, when the neighboring Lancers handed CHS an 82-63 loss. The defeat in the Section One AA East Sub-section game on March 11, put an end to an impressive 20-7 season for the Warriors.

Three Caledonia/Houston wrestlers were named to the Three Rivers All-Conference team, according to coach Jay Tolleson. They include seniors Lee Burg and Tyler Stemper, and junior Owen Fitzgerald.

The Lady Warriors weren’t lulled by jumping out to a commanding lead. They also weren’t swayed when that lead eroded.

 It’s the fundamentals that win games, and that’s exactly what the Caledonia boys basketball team did last Saturday when they defeated Chatfield 60-55. The Warriors made 10 of 12 free throws during the final four minutes of Saturday afternoon’s contest in the East Sub-section quarterfinals to seal the five-point win.
