The Spring Grove/Caledonia softball team pounded two opponents on Monday and Tuesday of last week in “miserable” weather, according to coach Michelle Anderson. The Caledonia baseball team played the Chatfield Gophers even for six of the seven innings during their April 7 outing on the road. Unfortunately, the Gophers out-scored the Warriors 8-0 in the fourth inning and went on to win the season opener for CHS by a 9-1 score.

Caledonia’s Kody Moore, pictured at right, and the rest of the Warrior baseball team had to battle the mud, rain, and snow April 8 during a home game with Southland. The game was called in the second inning due to snow. With improving conditions this week, spring sports should be in full swing this week.                     Photo by Charlie Warner   

Two Caledonia youth wrestlers, Alex Goergen, at left,  and Casey Stemper, at right, brought home first place honors at the Minnesota Youth Wrestling Tournament held in Rochester at the community college on April 5 and 6.
