8-run fourth inning spells doom for CHS Warrior baseball team PDF Print

sp_kody_color.jpgThe Caledonia baseball team played the Chatfield Gophers even for six of the seven innings during their April 7 outing on the road. Unfortunately, the Gophers out-scored the Warriors 8-0 in the fourth inning and went on to win the season opener for CHS by a 9-1 score.

 

Caledonia’s Kody Moore, pictured at right, and the rest of the Warrior baseball team had to battle the mud, rain, and snow April 8 during a home game with Southland. The game was called in the second inning due to snow. With improving conditions this week, spring sports should be in full swing this week.                     Photo by Charlie Warner

Alex Goergen, Casey Stemper win state youth wrestling titles PDF Print

Two Caledonia youth wrestlers, Alex Goergen, at left,  and Casey Stemper, at right, brought home first place honors at the Minnesota Youth Wrestling Tournament held in Rochester at the community college on April 5 and 6.

Caledonia native Jan Schuldt prepares for Boston Marathon PDF Print
janschuldt.jpgCaledonia native Jan Schuldt will be running in the 112th Boston Marathon which will be held Apr. 21, 2008. The 2000 Caledonia grad, daughter of Blaine and Dianne Schuldt, qualified for the marathon with a time of 3 hours, 34 minutes in the Grandma’s marathon held in Duluth.

Wrestlers place fifth at NYWA state meet PDF Print
The seventh and eighth grade Caledonia/Houston wrestling team competed in the NYWA State Tournament at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester April 3 and 4. The team finished fifth of 22 teams from throughout the entire state.  Over the two day span the team wrestled five matches winning three.

Sign-up is extended for Summer Rec PDF Print
There’s still time to sign up for summer rec ball offered by the Caledonia Summer Rec Program. The sign up has been extended through Friday, April 18. Summer Rec officials are especially looking for more Pee Wee girls ages 6-7 and boys and girls 10 and over.
