Wrestlers place fifth at NYWA state meet PDF Print
The seventh and eighth grade Caledonia/Houston wrestling team competed in the NYWA State Tournament at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester April 3 and 4. The team finished fifth of 22 teams from throughout the entire state.  Over the two day span the team wrestled five matches winning three.

Sign-up is extended for Summer Rec PDF Print
There’s still time to sign up for summer rec ball offered by the Caledonia Summer Rec Program. The sign up has been extended through Friday, April 18. Summer Rec officials are especially looking for more Pee Wee girls ages 6-7 and boys and girls 10 and over.

 Five members of the Caledonia boys basketball team, which finished the season with a 17-3 record in the Three Rivers Conference, and 20-7 over-all, were named to TRC honors teams.

Seniors Kody Moore and Craig Loeffler, and junior Ryan Goetzinger were named All-TRC. Senior Zach Gran and sophomore Bobby Augedahl were named Honorable Mention.

All-TRC

Craig Loeffler
led the Warriors in scoring with 432 points in 27 games for a 16.0 ppg average. Loeffler also led the team in assists with 102, was second in steals with 53, was second in free throw percentage at 70.2 percent, and was third in rebounding with 103.

Kody Moore
was second on the team in scoring with 382 points for a 14.1 ppg average. He led the team with 67 steals, was second in field goal percentage at 44.8 percent, and third with 94 assists.

Ryan Goetzinger
led the team in rebounding with 222, led the team in blocked shots with nine, led the team in field goal percentage at 51.2 percent, was third in scoring with 343 points for a 12.7 ppg average, and third in steals with 40.

Honorable Mention

Zach Gran
led the team in three point shooting with a 43.8 percent,  was fifth in steals with 20, fifth in assists with 29, and fifth in scoring with 110 points for a 6.1 ppg average.

Bobby Augedahl
led the team in free throw shooting at 86.7 percent, was second in assists with 97, was fourth in rebounds with 64, and fourth in scoring with 212 points for a 7.9 ppg average.

“I was pleased with the season we had this year,” coach Josh Diersen said. “Whenever you can have a 20-win season, it’s a success, especially when you consider how tough our conference was this season. We will be losing some hard-working, dedicated players to graduation this spring. But we do have some good kids coming back. They’re already excited about next season. That’s great!”

Three Caledonia girls basketball players were named to the Three Rivers All-Conference squad. Two others were given honorable mention. Head coach Scott Sorenson shares his thoughts on the players who received the honors.

Warriors fall to Jordan, 74-61 in opening round of Class 1AA state tournament PDF Print

The Caledonia girls basketball team’s season came to an end in the quarter final round of the Minnesota Girls Class AA State Tournament. The Jordan Jaguars topped the CHS girls 74-61 last Wednesday at Williams Arena. Jordan battled its way to the championship game, but lost to Albany 62-52.
