Caledonia High School graduate and College of Saint Benedict first-year post Danielle Frank is making a big impact in her first season on the Blazer basketball team.  Frank has continued to improve consistently throughout the season and has provided a post presence for the Blazers on offense and defense. This season, Frank is averaging 6.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game. She currently ranks No. 3 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) in blocked shots and No. 5 in the MIAC in rebounds.

Frank recorded her season-high 18 rebounds in a recent game against Hamline - just three short of the Saint Benedict single-game record. Over the last six games, Frank has averaged 8.33 points, 12.67 rebounds, and 3.67 blocks. In those games, she has also recorded four double-doubles.

St. Benedict head coach Mike Durbin says of Frank:  “(She’s) a promising player with a wide range of talents … runs well … has good hands … has great shot blocking abilities.”

A 2007 graduate of Caledonia High School, Frank was coached by Scott Sorensen … participated in basketball (four years), soccer (one year), volleyball (three years) track and field (one year) and golf (two years) during her athletic career at Caledonia. She was an All-Three Rivers Conference selection in volleyball and basketball, was an All-State honorable mention in basketball, was named basketball team’s MVP her senior year and was a member of the Caledonia girls basketball team that qualified for the State Tournament in 2007.

She is the daughter of Jean and Ken Frank of Caledonia, and, according to her bio, enjoys reading, traveling, camping and playing sports. Danielle is majoring in elementary education.

Proudest moment of her basketball career: “Leading my team in scoring, rebounding, and block shots the year we went to the State Tournament.”

What do you like about being a collegiate student-athlete? “I think it is such a great experience to have a chance to play basketball and working at completing a degree.”
