What is it going to take for these people to realize that money does not grow on trees. False sense of security with the whole "100 percent funding of the county shop" and now more spending on a new office facility that they are calling the CJC. I would love a new car,office, boat ect..... but I can't afford it. Why is it that the county can just continue to spend massive amounts of taxpayer dollars with the continued cuts of funding?? Can't wait to see what my taxes are going to be in a couple of years!!! Iowa here I come!!

When Sheriff Ely was campaigning he promised to reduce the size of the new jail. At that time he called the CJC a monstrosity. Now with our jail population going down in each of the last two years he wants to build a jail just as big as the previous plan. Maybe because of the 12% raise he received this year he is not concerned about taxes.
