Naomi Ione Solberg, age 81, of Decorah, Iowa and formerly of
Spring Grove, Minn., died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at Winneshiek Medical
Center in Decorah.
She was born January 20, 1927 in Spring Grove, Minn., to Alphy and Benora (Harstad) Solberg.
She attended Spring Grove Public.
She lived and worked in Spring Valley, Minn. for a number of years.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Jean (Devoine) Meiners of
Eitzen, Minn., five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by five brothers and three sisters, Stan (Carol)
Solberg of St. Peter, Minn., Paul (Carrie) Solberg of Decorah, Iowa,
Robert (Judy) Solberg of Des Moines, Iowa, David (Eileen) Solberg of
Hiawatha, Iowa, Donald Solberg of Caledonia, Minn., Lyla Smith of
Waukon, Iowa, Margaret (Orville) Flaten of Rockland, Wis. and Judy
Ashbacher of Lansing, Iowa, also a sister-in-law, Pat (Charlie) Solberg
of La Crescent, Minn.
In addition to her parents, Solberg was preceded in death by brothers
Al and Charlie Solberg, sister and brother-in-law Helen and Bud Fink,
and brother-in-law Kenneth Smith.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Good
Shepherd Lutheran Church, Decorah, Iowa. Pastor Joan A. Mau
will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity
Lutheran Church Cemetery in Spring Grove. Friends may call for a
visitation time from 9-11 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove is in charge of arrangements.
