Caledonia man charged with 15th DWI offense PDF Print
James Donald Richmond, 58, of Caledonia, faces a gross misdemeanor charge with a maximum of one year in jail and/or $3,000 in fines after being charged April 27 in Houston County District Court with second-degree driving while intoxicated, second-degree refusal to submit to chemical test and possession of an open bottle.
This is the 15th time Richmond has been charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).
A Houston County sheriff’s deputy stopped Richmond’s vehicle at 7:18 p.m. Friday, April 24 on CSAH 21 by Storer Valley Road because he was driving on the wrong side of the road, according to the complaint.
Richmond had his driver’s license revoked in 1977, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety in St. Paul.
According to published reports, Richmond had eight further drunken driving offensives, both in Minnesota and Wisconsin, from 1977 to 2005. His license then was reinstated in 2008 after he successfully completed the state’s requirements for rehabilitation.
A second arraignment will be May 6.

This is why Caledonia and Houston County need a bigger jail. This guy should be in there and never allowed out. He is a menace to society. 15, are you kidding? Why is he not in jail?

Prison is exactly where this man belongs! What are you folks in Caledonia waiting for? This man could have KILLED!! It could be someone from your family or friends. Are you willing to sit by and just let it happen? I lost my sister to a drunk driver. It CAN HAPPEN to you and to those you love.

Please stand up against this kind of activity. Hold him responsible!! Don't let anyone else get hurt.
