A one vehicle roll-over crash occurred on County Rd 249 east of Caledonia near Esch Road Saturday, July 4. Hannah Nack of Caledonia was eastbound when she failed to negotiate the curve (at Esch Rd), ran off the highway, and while correcting caused the car to roll multiple times before coming to rest blocking the westbound lane. Neither Nack nor her passenger David Ranzenberger (also of Caledonia) were seatbelted at the time of the crash. Nack was treated and released, and Ranzenberger was not treated.
The State Patrol investigated the accident for Houston County at their request since county personnel were all busy in Eitzen.
State patrolman Kelly McGraw reminds everyone that, “As of June 9, 2009 ALL occupants of motor vehicles are required to be seat belted regardless of where they are seated. Additionally as of July 1, 2009 children younger than the age of eight or shorter than 4 feet 9 inches are required to be in an approved booster seat and infants are still required to be transported in an approved child safety seat”.
