Caledonia man is charged with criminal sexual assault PDF Print
According to an article in The Rochester Post-Bulletin, a Caledonia man faces numerous felony charges for allegedly breaking into a Caledonia woman’s house and physically and sexually assaulting her.

Dean Joseph Gavin, 39, has been charged in Houston District Court with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts each of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, first-degree burglary, domestic assault, domestic assault by strangulation and single counts of terroristic threats and interfering with a 911 call.

According to court complaints, Gavin entered the woman’s home about 5 a.m., Aug. 23 when she was sleeping in the living room. She woke up and told the man to leave, but he allegedly forced her onto the couch and sexually assaulted her. The woman told authorities that she fought and punched Gavin and screamed for help. When she got away from him, she grabbed her cell phone to call for help, but Gavin took it from her and threw it across the room, the complaint alleges. She told police that Gavin took a pillow and held it over her mouth, nose and head. When he left the house, the woman locked the door and called police.

Not that it makes it right for him to do that to her, but wasn't that his X wife???? UM????????? Seems to me there is more to this story than what was reported on!

Well "just wondering", you obviously are a man to even question this! So what if it was his x-wife! No one has the right to do that to anyone. It's about time he was charged!I applaud her for having the courage to finally press charges. I'm sure there is more to the story and it probably includes a history of abuse.

It is likely (and makes sense) that the reason the story does not provide details (i.e. the name of the person attacked or the relationship, if any) is because they are trying to protect the identity of the alleged victim. It's a newspaper. Not a gossip column.

Just wondering???, I would get your facts straight that was not is Ex-wife. They were never married, and wether they were ever together or it was a complete stranger there is no excuse for that to ever happen to anyone. It's people like you the reason no one likes Caledonia.

I can't believe you would even ask this. It doesn't matter if it's a x wife a current wife or a girl he dated. Wrong is wrong. When a female or male says no when it comes to sex it means NO. You can't commit burglary even if it is an ex-spouse. I hope you nothing like this ever happens to someone who is dear to you. It is a shame that people still in this day and age make excuses for RAPE.
