So does the editor and the city council think that this is not costing us money?? The levy has still been raised, correct?? Just because the "state" is writing you a check doesn't mean that it is FREE money.... Have we forgot that we are in a recession?? I would call it a depression because that is what most families are feeling right now, depressed! Yet the money spent by "our" elected mouths keeps increasing and increasing. I really enjoy this community but between the federal, state and now county taxes (not to mention the school district blunders...) can't see this being a good thing for growth....

I don't think it is considered "whining" when you are concerned about your community's future. I would have to say you are the perfect taxpayer. Ignorant to the issues and content with the elected officals spending practices. Have you also noticed all the newspaper articles lately about county jails that sit empty and the massive costs involved?? There was a good one in the Star Tribune sunday. Just remember what I have mentioned when Caledonia becomes a ghost town....
