Leo  J.  Felten, age  86, of Caledonia, Minn. died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at his home.

Leo was born June 9, 1923 in Caledonia to Mike and Agatha (Vogler) Felten. He attended the Catholic Central School in Caledonia.  He had worked in the twin cities driving delivery truck and then during the war he did maintenance work on bombers. On May 18, 1946 he married Gloria M. Erickson in St. Paul.  The couple then moved to Caledonia where Leo worked for Clarence Guillaume, Nelson Lumber, and Nelson Construction before retiring in 1988.  In his retirement he drove bus for Head Start for ten years and was also a bus driver for the Caledonia School District. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caledonia.  He was a pilot and a member of the Red Baron Flying Club in Caledonia for several years.

Leo is survived by his wife of 63 years Gloria of Caledonia; three sons Tom (best friend Kathy), Jim (Bonnie), and Jeff (Dawn) all of Caledonia; two daughters Diane (Rick) Rosendahl-Bullock of Waukon, Iowa, and Kathy (Henry) Bruening of Freeburg, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his granddaughters Maria Bruening and Nicole Rosendahl, a daughter-in-law Jeannie Felten, and a sister Clara Felten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 22 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caledonia with Father Greg Havel officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Caledonia.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, January 21 at Holy Family Hall with a prayer service at 7p.m.
