Eat, drink and be merry Friday night at the Caledonia Community Celebrations (CCC) Chili Supper and Smelt Fry Fun Night! The event will take place Feb. 12 beginning at 5 p.m. at St. Mary’s School Auditorium.
Proceeds from the Fun Night will help fund a June event CCC is planning.
“We’re working with the Houston County Fair Board to coordinate a two or possibly three-day event June 18-20 at the fair grounds,” CCC President Sue Bauer explained. “There will be a moto cross Friday night, some type of event Saturday and hopefully something Sunday.
“We will be contacting all the groups and organizations in Caledonia and encouraging them to plan events or have booths or stands at the fair grounds that will add to this. It’s still in the planning stages. The more money we can raise with our Fun Night, the more we can do in June,” Bauer added.
Friday night’s Fun Night will include all the chili and smelt you can eat, beer and pop and drawings for cash. The cost is $9 in advance and $10 at the door.
The cost of admission also includes a chance to win $10. A drawing will be held every half hour. Persons MUST be present to win the cash drawings.
Pull tabs will also be available, as well as raffle baskets.
“You don’t have to be present to win a basket,” Bauer noted.
Carryouts will be available and CCC members will deliver to shut-ins. For delivery orders, persons need to call (507) 724-3434 by Feb. 11 before 5 p.m.
Tickets are available at Bank of the West, Mary Ann’s Floral, Merchants Bank, the Caledonia Area Chamber of Commerce office, Eitzen State Bank, Quillin’s, Pine Cone Place, Affordable Technology Solutions, The Caledonia Argus and Edina Realty.
