Bonnie Lue Burroughs, 68, of Caledonia, died after a long battle with cancer on Sunday Apr. 6, 2008 at her home.
She was born Sept. 15, 1939, in La Crosse to Fred A. and Luella
(Holte) Churchill. She graduated from Logan High School and married Don
Burroughs, Sr. on June 18, 1960 at St. John’s Catholic Church in La
Crosse.
Bonnie worked as an Assistant Head Cook at Caledonia High School for 33
years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its Council
of Catholic Women.
She is survived by her husband Don of Caledonia; her sons: Don, Jr.
(Sharon), Caledonia; Dave (Marcia), Prior Lake, Minn.; four
grandchildren; her honorary daughters, Sharon Klinski and Tammy Kramer;
two sisters: Doris VanThomme, Fairbault, Minn., and Janet Hendricks,
Richland Center, Wis.; two brothers: Fred, Jr. Churchill, Summerville,
S.C., and Richard Churchill, Rosemount, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a sister Beverly Butterfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Apr. 10 at St.
Mary’s Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif will officiate
and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family
Hall, behind St. Mary’s Church. Friends may also call one hour prior to
the service at the church Thursday.
McCormick Funeral Home, Caledonia is assisting the family with arrangements.
