The Caledonia/Spring Grove boys golf team picked up three more Three Rivers Conference wins when they turned in team scores of 151 and 158 at Ma Cal Grove Golf Course on April 21 and 22, and a 179 in the rain at Rushford on April 18. The Warriors topped Rushford-Peterson 179-202 on a rain-soaked course April 18, bested Kingsland by 28 points, 151-179 on April 21, and then topped TRC foe Chatfield 158-194, and non-conference opponent Waukon 158-190 April 22.

Golfing in very miserable conditions on April 18 at Ferndale Country Club near Rushford, the Warriors bested TRC rival Rushford-Peterson by 23 strokes. The day was cold, windy, and rainy, and the scores reflected the conditions.

Garrett Cross was medalist with a 43. Mitch Massman and Kyle Runningen turned in 45’s, and Alex Eglinton had a 46 for the top four scores. Craig Loeffler finished with a 50 and Luke Daley had a 51.

Only one R-P golfer broke 50 strokes in the meet.

Warriors shoot 151

The Warriors had four golfers shoot in the 30’s during the April 21 meeting against Kingsland on April 21.

Eglinton shot a one-under-par 35 for medalist honors. Massman had a 38, and Cross and Loeffler both had 39’s, to round out the top four scores for the Warriors. Runnningen had a 41 and Daley carded a 51.

Alex Broadwater had the low round for Kingsland with a 39.

B team wins by 21

The Warrior B team also topped their Kingsland foes, 218-239.

Isaac Schiltz had the low round with a 47. Kevin Ranzenberger had a 56, Lucas Harguth had a 57, Pete Selness had a 58, Doug Welsher had a 60, and A.J. Bird had a 62.

CSG wins triangular


The Warriors were 32 strokes better than Waukon and 36 better than Chatfield on April 22.

Cross and Runningen were co-medalists with 39’s, while Eglinton and Massman had 40’s to round out the scoring for the Warriors. Daley finished with a 41, and Loeffler had a 42.

B team edged by one stroke

The Waukon B team topped CSG by a stroke, 206-207, while Chatfield’s B team came in third with 231 strokes.

Schiltz had the low round for the three teams with a 44. Other CSG scores included: Ranzenberger and Selness 54’s, Harguth 55, Brandon Cordes 56, and Greg Link 59.
