Dale Lager, 74, of Glencoe and formerly of Caledonia died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008.
Dale was born April 15, 1933 in Caledonia, Minn. the son of Herbert and
Inga (Nelson) Lager. He served in the United States Army during the
Korean War. He was united in marriage with Henrietta (Hank) Johnson on
May 5, 1962. The couple made their home in Glencoe where Dale was
employed by Duininck Bros. as a heavy equipment operator in road
construction. He and Hank also owned and operated the Hickory Inn in
Glencoe until selling the business in 1976. Dale was also a
member of the Glencoe VFW Post #5102.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife on April 3, 2003; and an infant
daughter. He is survived by two brothers: LaVerne Lager and Glen
(Martha) Lager, both of Caledonia; two sister-in-laws: Carmen Miller,
Protivin, Iowa; and Nona (Lyle) Busch, Milaca; aunt Marian Lager,
Caledonia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008 at 1 p.m. at
Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe with visitation beginning one
hour prior to the service. Officiating was Pastor Chuck Beronius.
Interment with military rites followed the service in the Glencoe City
Cemetery.
Arrangements were with the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.
