Ace donates to Caledonia Fire Dept.’s Utility Vehicle PDF Print
cal_donation.jpgEarly this year, Caledonia fire department volunteers began building a rescue/fire fighting skid for their utility vehicle with some help from P T Welding. By switching the basket that’s used for carrying people to a water tank, it is a very versatile piece of equipment. “We’ll mainly use it in the Caledonia area,” says Fire Chief Assistant Matt Hoscheit, “but we’ll be happy to help in other areas as needed. In fact,” he adds, “we’ve already used it several times during the recent floods to evacuate campers at Dunromin Park, pump basements in Dorchester, and help with sand bagging and evacuation in Decorah.” Ace Chief Operating Officer Todd Roesler presented a donation from Ace Link Telecommunications, Inc. to the Caledonia Fire Department at their June meeting. “Our company strongly believes in supporting projects of the communities we serve and are pleased to make this donation,” Roesler stated. With a total cost of nearly $20,000, the firefighters expressed their appreciation to Ace and noted they only have a few thousand left to pay on their utility vehicle.
