Community Christmas dinner served 150 persons PDF Print

To the Editor:

Hands together for all the donations and volunteers who helped out, providing a very Merry Christmas for the people who had meals delivered or came in to Elsie’s Bar and Grill for a nice Christmas dinner.

I started out my Christmas alone in the restaurant preparing for the community Christmas dinner, but not for long! By 10:30 a.m. the kitchen was filled with approximately 30 smiling volunteers eager to help serve our guests and deliver meals wherever needed. The food and money donated was a pleasant added touch.

This community should be very proud! What a heart-warming gesture. We served approximately 150 people. Hopefully next year will be an even bigger success.

This was a gesture that should be acted upon by many more in many communities. This is called being a good neighbor and bringing a community closer. Working together to make a community closer. Good Job to Elsie and to all those who joined in to help her!
