Studio 44 now open in Spring Grove

After eight years working at Helen’s Beauty Salon, Tara Gerard has branched out on her own and opened up Studio 44 Salon.
Located in the breezeway of the home she shares with husband Heath, and children Carson and Kenadee (with another on the way due in October), Gerard said the decision to open her own business is “the best decision I’ve ever made.”
“It’s always been my dream,” she notes. “The timing was right.”
Gerard wanted to be closer to her children who attend school in Spring Grove. Initially she was concerned that many of her Caledonia clients wouldn’t follow her.
“With gas prices being what they are and all,” she said. “I was a little worried at first, but I appreciate my clients being so loyal and faithful. I have some really good clients especially from Caledonia who come over here and make the trip. I really appreciate them.”
One such loyal customer, Sarah Burfield, was in the chair on the day this reporter stopped by.
“I’ve known Tara for a while,” said Burfield. “I can’t say enough about her. She’s a great person and she does an awesome job. I would recommend everyone should come here. She always makes me feel comfortable.”
Studio 44 is located just off Highway 44 at 18896 North Valley Road.
