Sexual predators forum to be held in Hokah

The Hokah and La Crescent Police Departments are hosting a community dialogue surrounding sexual predators on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hokah Fire Department, 9 Mill Street.
Come to the free forum to hear panelists from the Minnesota Department of Corrections, the Jacob Wetterling Foundation, and Houston County Women’s Resources, along with local law enforcement discuss questions such as how safe are our communities, and how safe are our children. Some of these professionals assess, supervise, monitor, and study sexual predators that live among us. Some of these professionals work with the victims and their families.
This free community forum is your opportunity to learn about characteristics of sexual predators and also to learn how to recognize signs of sexual abuse. This dialog will help you understand what you need to do to protect yourself, your family, and your community. Following the panel discussion, you will have the opportunity to ask the panelists questions.
