| Jerry McCloud pleads guilty to one count of felony terroristic threats |

Jerry McCloud, 33, of Caledonia pled guilty last week to one count of felony terroristic threats and had the remaining charges dismissed. McCloud had originally been charged with first and third degree felony assault, as well as making terroristic threats, also a felony and two fifth degree assault charges all stemming from an incident that occurred Aug. 27 in downtown Caledonia. According to Houston County Assistant Attorney Jamie Hammell, on unrelated matters, but as part of the plea agreement, McCloud also plead guilty to one count of felony escape from custody, one count of gross misdemeanor assault, and admitted violating his probation on a misdemeanor manner. Hammell stated sentencing was set for April 14, 2010, where all victims involved on all matters will have the right to give a victim impact statement and ask for restitution. “Given his criminal history, McCloud is facing a commitment to prison of 27 months; however, the court may sentence the defendant to 23 to 32 months according to Minnesota Sentencing Guidelines. The State will be asking that Mr. McCloud be sentenced to 32 months in prison,” Hammell said. Comments
